Elephant Archers, Champi Scouts, Bolas Riders and fixes to civilization bonuses, movement and garrisoning.

Selected changes to prepare for your next game. Consult the official notes for the complete list.

Data status

The reviewed calculator reference is DE 188329. We compare costs and training times for all 36 modeled units with the cited revision. Civilizations, tier lists and AI lookups check for new references hourly when used and keep the last complete copy if the source fails.

This patch does not change costs or training times for the planner's 36 units. Elephant Archers do change: their new stats are available in Civilizations and AI lookups; they are not yet part of the planner's catalog.

Base data excludes technologies and civilization bonuses. Counter guidance does not simulate combat or every corrected mechanic.

Method and limitations

Changes and decisions

Elephant Archer

Fact · official notes

Normal and elite: food 60 → 70, gold stays 80. HP: 230 → 220; elite 280 → 270.

Strategic interpretation

Budget more food for replacements and protect damaged units. Base costs exclude civilization bonuses.

Champi Scout

Fact · official notes

Bonus against the Scout Cavalry line and Camel Scout: +1 → +2. Champi Runner is unchanged.

Strategic interpretation

Reassess early scout trades; health, civilization bonuses and positioning still affect the outcome.

Open related tool →

Bolas Rider

Fact · official notes

Non-elite movement speed: 1.50 → 1.45. Elite is unchanged.

Strategic interpretation

Allow more room to retreat before the elite upgrade. Do not apply this reduction to the elite unit.

Danes

Fact · official notes

Building-destruction resources now account for attacked buildings deleted by their owner, walls and gates.

Strategic interpretation

Include the corrected bonus when reviewing raids; ordinary unit-production budgets do not model this situational income.

Open related tool →

Portuguese · Varangians

Fact · official notes

Mixing food sources no longer incorrectly triggers these civilizations' food bonuses.

Strategic interpretation

Use each bonus's actual gathering conditions rather than relying on mixed-food shortcuts.

Open related tool →

Varangians · Gothikon

Fact · official notes

Cancelling a Varangian Guard's ranged attack no longer generates gold through Gothikon.

Strategic interpretation

Do not count cancelled attacks as income when assessing this technology.

Movement and garrisoning

Fact · official notes

Fixes address large groups slowing at obstructions and garrisoned units being deleted when their building falls with no exit space.

Strategic interpretation

Retest tight approaches and evacuation positions in game; these fixes are not a new movement-speed or damage statistic.

How to read this analysis

Implications are conditional reasoning, not win-rate statistics. Map, Elo, composition and execution can change the outcome. Radar history may include pre-patch games: it cannot establish the new meta on its own.
